November 10, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release
DULUTH, GEORGIA - The Atlanta Gladiators announced Tuesday that the Providence Bruins have signed Garry Nunn to a PTO and recalled fellow forward Eric Neiley to the American Hockey League.
Nunn, 25, leads the Gladiators and is tied for the league-lead in assists at nine. The sixth-year pro is also tied for first in scoring, alongside Derek Nesbitt, on Atlanta and is in the top five of the ECHL with 11 points. The Victoria, BC native had a league-high point streak of eight games snapped last Saturday in Idaho and has earned a point in all but one contest this season.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound forward has registered 254 points in 358 career games in the ECHL and has yet to appear in an AHL regular season lineup. Nunn attended Providence's training camp back in September before joining Atlanta during the preseason. This marks the first call-up to the AHL of his professional career.
Neiley, 23, returns to Providence where he started the season by appearing in three games. Since his assignment to the Gladiators on October 30th, the Dartmouth College product has skated in four games and scored his first professional goal November 7th.
The Warminster, PA native is in his first full professional campaign after signing an AHL contract with the P-Bruins during the off-season. Prior to turning pro, the right-handed forward compiled a career total of 94 points in 129 games at Dartmouth. During his senior year in 2014-15, Neiley was the only player in the NCAA to lead his team in five statistical categories.
The two forwards have already joined the P-Bruins in preparation for their next game on Wednesday, November, 11th at 7:00 p.m. as they take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT.
The Atlanta Gladiators 13th season is now underway at The Arena at Infinite Energy Center. Join the Gladiators for their next home game tonight at 7:05 PM. For ticket information, visit the official team website at www.atlantagladiators.com or call the main office line at 770-497-5100.
