
Providence Bruins Take Home 6-3 Win in Rematch against Hershey

HERSHEY, PA - The Providence Bruins took on the Hershey Bears on Sunday February 21 at 5:00pm at the Giant Center in part two of their double header weekend.
Both teams came out strong in the first with a back and forth battle resulting in a total of 4 goals and a score tied at 2. The Providence Bruins got on the board first thanks to a goal from Seth Griffith with the helpers going to Irwin and Czarink. The Bears did not take long to tie the score. O'Brien scored 3 minutes later to make it 1-1. Boyd helps Hershey take the lead at the 16:19 mark; however, the Providence Bruins finished out the first 20 minutes with a second goal from Seth Griffith.
With the score tied at 2 the Providence Bruins entered the second period eager to break the tie. Frank Vatrano gets on the board at the 17:49 mark with the assists going to Acciari and Griffith to make the score 3-2. The Bears kept a tight defense through the second period and closed out 40 minutes with a one point P-Bruins lead.
The Bears entered the third frame ready to take the lead. Stanton scored for Hershey two minutes in to tie the score once again. Colton Hargrove answered Stanton's goal just 3 minutes later to reclaim the one point lead. Frank Vatrano scored his second goal of the night on the Power Play at 14:11 to make it a two point lead. Tommy Cross closes out the game by scoring on the empty net from center ice with 1:17 left to go. The Providence Bruins beat the Hershey Bears 6-3.
Frank Vatrano was awarded the second star of the night and Seth Griffith was awarded the first star. The Providence Bruins will take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Friday February 26 at 7:05 at the Dunk.
