Trailing 5-2 midway through the third period, San Jose scored three times in the final ten minutes to force overtime but Mason Raymond gave Stockton their 10th straight win on home ice with the game winner at 3:00 of the overtime period. Barclay Goodrow (16th) gave the Barracuda an early 1-0 lead as he scored on San Jose's first shot on goal at 2:13 after his quick snap shot from the right circle beat goaltender Kent Simpson on the blocker side. Stockton would score the next two to take a 2-1 advantage. Kenny Agostino (16th) struck at 4:00 followed by a point power play score by Kenney Morrison (1st) at 9:24. Captain Bryan Lerg (13th) got the Barracuda within a goal at 13:01 after his shot from the right side went off a body in front and past Kent Simpson. San Jose trailed 3-2 after 40 minutes of play as Stockton held a 27-18 shot advantage headed into the third period.
A wild third period saw the Heat charge out to a 5-2 lead after quick strikes by Kenny Agostino (17th) at 2:20 and Mason Raymond (3rd) at 4:21. San Jose started their charge back at 10:18 as Ryan Carpenter (11th) fired home a rebound to cut the deficit to 5-3. With the goaltender pulled, John McCarthy (6th) got the Barracuda within a goal with an easy empty net tap in after a great feed from behind the net by Nikolay Goldobin at 18:49. Trevor Parkes (10th) tied the score on a similar play at 19:27 to stun the Heat and force overtime with the score tied 5-5. Shots were 18-9 Barracuda in the third period.
In the overtime period, NHL veteran Mason Raymond (4th) tracked down a puck in the Barracuda zone and fired it into an empty net after Grosenick went diving out of the crease and tried to poke check it away from Raymond at 3:00 of the overtime frame.
