Binghamton Senators News Release
HARTFORD, C.T. - The Binghamton Senators pushed their win-streak to four straight games with a 6-2 win in Hartford over the Wolf Pack. 11 different skaters registered points for Binghamton with Robinson and Schneider tallying a goal and an assist.
The B-Sens jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Cole Schneider received a centering feed from Eric O'Dell and lifted the puck over a sprawling Magnus Hellberg for his 17th goal of the year just 2:06 into the first period. Jayson Megna evened the score with a power-play goal with just over seven minutes to play in the frame to send the teams to the first intermission knotted 1-1 despite the Wolf Pack outshooting Binghamton 18-8.
The B-Sens tallied three goals over the final 9:30 of the third period to increase their lead to 4-1. Zack Stortini redirected home a shot from Conor Allen on the power play for his seventh strike of the year to make it 2-1. Buddy Robinson netted his 12th strike of the year with less than four minutes to play before Ben Harpur made it a three-goal contest with his first professional goal with just over two minutes to play in the second. The B-Sens outshot the Wolf Pack 9-8 over the middle frame to take their three-goal cushion into the final intermission break.
Chris McCarthy cut Binghamton's lead to 4-2 3:10 into the third with his sixth goal of the season, but that was as close as the hosts would get. The B-Sens outshot their hosts 13-12 over the final period adding an empty-net goal from Ryan Rupert with 1:36 to play in regulation before Travis Ewanyk completed a wrap-around attempt with just over 30 seconds left to push the final score to 6-2.
Matt O'Connor earned the victory stopping 36 of 38 shots faced while Hellberg allowed five goals on 29 shots in the losing effort.
