Charleston registered a pair of two out RBI singles to take a 2-0 lead against Hickory starter Nicholas Tepesch in the top of the first inning.

Rob Segedin accounted for the first run, continuing his torrid June with a line drive to center field to plate Anderson Feliz. The eighth inning damage made a winner of Joseph Van Meter (5-0), who authored a scoreless top of the frame to keep his mark unblemished.

Ryan Rodebaugh slammed the door shut to lock up his tenth save of the campaign, working around a leadoff walk and striking out two to give the Crawdads a shot at a sweep tomorrow.

The RiverDogs and Crawdads conclude the first half of the season with the finale of a four-game series on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. Right-hander Zach Nuding (5-4, 4.90 ERA) is slated to pitch for Charleston, versus fellow righty Roman Mendez (6-1, 3.62 ERA) of Hickory.
