Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Kennewick, WA - Two goals in both the second and third period by the Prince Albert Raiders lifted the visiting team to a 5-3 win over the Tri-City Americans on Wednesday night at the Toyota Center.

Reid Gardiner (1g-1a), Austin Glover (1g-1a), and Brendan Guhle (2a) each picked up a pair of points for the Raiders. Sean Montgomery, Cal Babych and Matteo Gennaro also scored for the road team, while Simon Stransky extended his season-long point streak to nine games with an assist.

Parker AuCoin and Brian Williams scored first period goals for the Americans. Jordan Topping lit the lamp to make it a one-goal game in the third period, but Tri-City couldn't build on the momentum as Prince Albert replied less than three minutes later.

Making back-to-back starts for the second time this season, Prince Albert's Rylan Parenteau turned away 31 of 34 shots. At the other end, Evan Sarthou stopped 23 of 28 pucks his way.

The Americans outshot the Raiders 34-28. Prince Albert went 0-for-2 on the power play, while Tri-City was 1-for-2.

The Raiders improve their record to 6-2-0-1 with their second victory of their six-game road trip. The American's record now stands at 3-3-1-0.

The Prince Albert Raiders play their final game in the U.S. on Friday, October 16 when they battle the Spokane Chiefs. Puck drop is 8:05 PM CST. The team returns to the Art Hauser Centre on Friday, October 23, when they host the Moose Jaw Warriors in their Pink in the Rink game. Funds raised will support the Canadian Cancer Society.
