KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-City Americans, in partnership with VenuWorks and the City of Kennewick, announced a five-year lease extension agreement at a press conference at the Toyota Center.

The agreement will keep the Americans playing at the Toyota Center through the 2020 season.

"Today is a very exciting day for us to announce the extension of our agreement with the Americans of the WHL to be here for five more years," Executive Director of Three Rivers Campus Corey Pearson explained at the press conference. "We have a lot of things planned in the future for the improvements of the entertainment district, which includes the Toyota Center, Convention Center and expansion plans. This is just the start of it."

"This is a big day for us in Kennewick, it's also big for the Tri-Cities," said Kennewick Mayor Steve Young. "It's really more than just a hockey team, it's more than just a sports venue, it's about the players. They do so much for our community, the city is proud to have the Ams as a partner."

"The biggest thing for our organization is continuity. With this new lease, our ownership group has made a commitment to the Tri-Cities for over 15 years," Americans Governor/GM Bob Tory stated. "The hockey team is about the community, it's more than just a hockey game, it's about a community place where people can come and meet their family, be with friends, have a good time and enjoy the lifestyle that we are blessed with here in the Tri-Cities."
