POWER REPLAY: West Virginia fell 5-4 to Greensboro in ten innings on Sunday afternoon. The Power trailed 1-0 after three innings, but were up 3-1 after six and a half. The Hoppers scored three times in the seventh to take the lead, though West Virginia managed to tie the game back up in the eighth. Greensboro's Matt Smith drove in the winning run in the tenth on a single off of Jordan Cooper.

EXTRA EXTRA: West Virginia is now 1-1 in games that go to extra innings. The Power won 3-2 in 10 innings on April 13 on a walk-off wild pitch in their only other bonus baseball affair prior to Sunday at Greensboro.

TWO ON A ROLL: Jose Osuna and Kirk Singer will carry long hitting streaks into each of their respective next games. Osuna has hit safely in seven straight and 13 of his last 14. During this current seven-game run, the Power first baseman is batting .385 with ten hits over his last 26 at bats. Singer is hitting .318 over his last six games, all of which have seen the infielder reach by at least one hit. Singer has also driven in five runs over his last six games.

GOING TO GREENSBORO: West Virginia leads the all-time series with Greensboro 57-42 dating back to 2005, though the Grasshoppers won the 2011 series 10-9. The Power hold a 31-19 edge at home in this series despite two losses last weekend and also lead 26-23 at NewBridge Bank Park. This series is the final meeting of the first half between these clubs.

CALLING IT A CAREER: The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Friday that reliever Trent Stevenson has been placed on the Voluntary Retired List. The right-hander was a seventh round draft choice in 2009 and had made it as high as the South Atlantic League. Stevenson had been on the Power roster most of this season but was transferred to State College on April 28. The Arizona native had a career record of 2-10 over portions of four seasons with a combined 5.49 ERA.

FUESSER DOESN'T FACTOR: Sunday's start was the sixth no decision in six starts for Zac Fuesser. The southpaw has pitched 26 total innings this season, but has not earned a win or loss in any 2012 appearance yet.

LAUNCHING LONG BALLS AGAIN: West Virginia hitters had knocked 11 home runs over the first 11 games of the season before delving into a homerless drought spanning eight games. Over the last 11, however, the power game has reemerged with nine home runs.

NO DOUBLES: Greg Polanco has appeared in 27 games this season, tied for third most on the club, but has not yet reached in any game on a double. He and catcher Jon Schwind are the only Power position players who don't have a double to their credit yet this season.

PROMO UPDATE- MAY 10: The Power will host their first Thirsty Thursday Concert Series on May 10 at Appalachian Power Park. Rubber Soul, a Beatles tribute band, will perform immediately following West Virginia's series opener against the Charleston RiverDogs.

POWER POINTS: Dan Gamache's drove in two runs on Thursday marking the first time this season the middle infielder has had multiple RBIs in any game... New Method will perform a post-game concert on May 11 during Faith and Family Night..

Altoona beat Richmond 4-1... Bradenton beat Tampa 7-6 in 18 innings. Josh Poytress pitched six relief innings for the victory.
