Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (May 7, 2012) -- The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, will get a visit from some very exciting equines. The Budweiser Clydesdales gallop into Kannapolis on tomorrow (Tuesday, May 8) before the Intimidators game against the Hickory Crawdads at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The Clydesdales are scheduled to arrive between 4-4:30 p.m., at which time they will unload and hitch up, all of which is part of the show. The Clydesdales will also be available for pictures leading up to the Intimidators game which begins at 7:05 p.m.
The Intimidators and Budweiser will be giving away collectable Clydesdale Steins several times throughout the game as well as a few other promotional items. The Intimidators are also running a special at the ballpark with 16 oz. Budweiser and Bud Light draft for only $2 at the beer tent.
The Budweiser Clydesdales made their first-ever appearance on April 7, 1933, as part of a celebration of the repeal of Prohibition. The Clydesdales have been featured in two Presidential inaugurations and are most easily recognized for their substantial feather - the long hairs of the lower leg that cover the hooves. Despite a dressy appearance, they are capable of pulling a 1-ton load at 5 MPH. Clydesdales are remarkable also for their willing power, easy grace and gentle demeanor.
Tuesday's game is also a Two-for-Tuesday presented by Harris Teeter Neighborhood Food & Pharmacy with 2-for-1 tickets at the box office and other 2-for-1 deals throughout the ballpark when you show your Harris Teeter V.I.C. card. We're also playing BINGO at the ballpark throughout the game with great prizes to giveaway.
The Intimidators continue their current home stand today against the Hickory Crawdads at 7:05 p.m. with Belly Buster Monday presented by Pagerosa BBQ Sauce with all-you-can-eat concessions for only $10 (excludes drinks, candy & pizza). CMC-NorthEast Stadium is located off I-85 at exit 63. For ticket information, please call 704.932.3267 or purchase tickets online.
