SAVANNAH, Ga. - A four-run 7th inning spoiled what was a pitcher's duel up to that point in the ballgame, and Savannah took control en route to a 5-0 victory over the BlueClaws Monday night.

A two-run, one out double by Albert Cordero off newly-inserted Gabriel Arias broke a 0-0 tie and gave Savannah with all the runs they would need to secure the victory.

Despite picking up his second loss of the season, the still-winless Ethan Stewart pitched much better than his final line would indicate. He allowed just three baserunners through the first 6.1 innings before walking the final three batters he faced. All three runners would come around to score on base-hits off Arias to leave Stewart charged with three earned runs on the ballgame.

The BlueClaws only recorded one hit in the ballgame and it was the lone baserunner they would get in the ballgame. With two outs in the 5th inning Maikel Franco doubled snapping a streak of 14 consecutive BlueClaws retired. Jacob DeGrom and Carlos Vazquez- who combined on the shutout- would retire the final 13 batters of the ballgame following Franco's blemish.

The BlueClaws and Savannah will dual in the final game of the four-game series Tuesday evening. Colin Kleven (1-2, 3.86) will start for Lakewood and oppose Savannah's Alexander Panteliodis (3-1, 0.68) before Lakewood has Wednesday off and returns to FirstEnergy Park Thursday evening. First pitch for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
