POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost 7-6 at Charleston last night. The Power surrendered five runs in the fourth inning, including back-to-back home runs. West Virginia rallied but came up a run short against the RiverDogs bullpen. Zack Von Rosenberg fell to 0-3 with the loss. The Power offense amassed 16 his in a losing effort.

SPEED THRILLS: Power base runners stole a season-high four bags last night. West Virginia has stolen 33 bases this season, seventh most in the SAL, but had never stolen more than two bases in any game this year. No player has stolen more than one base in any one game this year.

DODSON'S DEALINGS: Zack Dodson leads the Power staff with a 3.10 ERA and is second on the club with 26 strikeouts. The southpaw beat Staten Island on August 6, 2010 with five shutout innings, facing a lineup that featured four players currently on the RiverDogs Roster.

FOUR! West Virginia saw it fou game winning streak broken with a loss last night. The streak was the longest winning stretch of the season for the Power and the Tuesday's last victory guaranteed at least a split of this series and the entire road trip, which concludes tonight.

DH DOMINATING HITTERS: Power designated hitters have fared well in 2011, batting .333 over the first 31 games. Eight different players have been placed in the DH role this season, and are a combined 34 for 102 with one home run and 21 runs batted in.

BRING ON THE BABY BOMBERS: West Virginia concludes its series in Charleston, SC against the RiverDogs tonight. The Power and RiverDogs will play 11 more times in 2011 after tonight and only played a total of four times in 2010. West Virginia leads the all-time set 14-9, and have gone 8-7 since 2005 at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. All 11 remaining games in the 2011 season set will occur during the second half of the season.

SERIES STARTING STRUGGLES: West Virginia notched a rare series opening win on Monday night at Charleston. The Power lost their first five openers prior to a 5-2 win on April 30 against Greensboro and dropped the opener of this road trip 7-6 at Augusta before winning Monday. West Virginia is 2-6 during the first game of the eight series they have played this season.

BACK FOR MORE: Rogelio Noris hit 15 home runs for West Virginia during the 2010 season and enters the year eighth all-time in Power history in the category. Stephen Chapman holds the single-season record with 24, which is also the most by any player during his stint with West Virginia. Noris is two behind Andrew LaFave's 17 for seventh all-time and four away from moving into the top five.

POWER POINTS: West Virginia hitters knocked 16 base hits in Wednesday's loss, the second most in any game this season... The Power will open a four-game homestand against Kannapolis on May 13 at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia will wear special charity jerseys to be auctioned off to raise money for Relay for Life.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh was blanked 2-0 by the LA Dodgers... Indianapolis gave up a first inning run to Durham and lost 1-0... Altoona beat up Harrisburg by a 13-2 final... Bradenton lost 6-4 at Tampa.
