Crawdads Survive Gnats 1-0 in 13 Innings Thursday

SAVANNAH, GA - The Hickory Crawdads scored in the top of the 13th inning to defeat the Savannah Sand Gnats 1-0 Thursday night at Historic Grayson Stadium. The Gnats (15-18) finished their eight-game home stand at 5-3.

The Crawdads (20-13) scored the winning run when reliever Luis Rojas threw a wild pitch over the head of Savannah catcher Albert Cordero while attempting to throw ball four of an intentional walk.

The Crawdads' run in the 13th stopped the Gnats' streak of 28 scoreless innings dating back to the second inning of Tuesday's game.

With 6.2 scoreless innings from starter Ryan Fraser, Gnats' starters finished the eight-game home stand by holding the Rome Braves and the Hickory Crawdads to four runs, three of which were earned, in 50 innings.

The Gnats begin a seven-game road trip in Rome Friday night when RHP Erik Goeddel (1-2, 3.60) takes on LHP Ronan Pacheco (1-2, 3.45). The Gnats' next home game is Friday, May 20.
