POWER REPLAY: West Virginia beat Hagerstown 8-5 on Tuesday at Appalachian Power Park. The Suns took a 1-0 lead in the first on a Bryce Harper home run, but the Power took control in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Rogelio Noris doubled in a pair in the first to put West Virginia up for good. Six different Power players had two hits each, including Matt Curry, who hit his fourth home run of the year. Tyler Waldron pitched five innings and earned his third win of the season.

ALL SYSTEMS GO: The Pittsburgh Pirates added Jameson Tallion to the West Virginia roster earlier today and the right-hander will make his professional debut tonight against the Hagerstown Suns. Tallion was selected second overall by the Pirates during the 2010 draft, just behind the Suns (a Washington affiliate) Bryce Harper. Tallion signed at the deadline last August and did not pitch until the fall instructional league.

SOMEWHAT SUNNY HISTORY: West Virginia leads the all-time series with Hagerstown by two wins after Tuesday's win. The Power have the edge in their own yard during this series, going 22-16 since 2005 at Appalachian Power Park against the Suns, including a 4-4 mark at home last year.

HARPERSTOWN SUNS: The Hagerstown Suns continue their series in Charleston tonight. Hagerstown's roster features the Washington Nationals top prospect Bryce Harper, the first overall selection during the 2010 draft. The gates at Appalachian Power Park will open early on Thursday, April 28 and Friday, April 29 so fans can watch both teams take batting practice. Members of the media will only be granted access to Harper after games that he has factored in.

A NUMBERS GAME: Rogelio Noris will now wear number 35, as he did during the entire 2010 season with West Virginia. Noris had worn number 48 from Opening Day until Monday.

ROSTER ROULETTE: To clear room on the active roster for Jameson Tallion, the Pittsburgh Pirates have transferred Brooks Pounders to extended spring training. Pounders appeared in five games for the Power, going 2-0 with a 2.70 earned run average.

STREAK SNAPPED: West Virginia's win last night stopped the Power's six game losing streak. West Virginia had three six-game slides during the 2010 season. The club record for consecutive losses is seven, a dubious feat accomplished five times since 2005. The Power lost their first seven games during the '05 season, and suffered another seven game run later that summer. West Virginia also saw seven game losing streaks each year from 2007 until 2009.

PINPOINT CONTROL: West Virginia pitchers have combined to walk just 34 batters this season, by far the fewest in the league. Hickory has walked a league-high 91 batters over 161 innings. Power pitchers have also walked the second fewest batters in all of Minor League Baseball, two more than the Frederick Keys from the Carolina League.

POWER POINTS: Brandon Cumpton pitched three perfect innings of relief Monday and lowered his ERA from 17.72 to 13.83... Dan Grovatt's 13-game on -base streak was snapped Monday by going 0-3, while Matt Curry's on-base streak has reached 15 after a two hit Tuesday.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 3-2 to San Francisco in ten innings... Indianapolis scored six in the sixth inning to beat Norfolk 8-5... Altoona fell 4-1 at Harrisburg... Bradenton doubled up St. Lucie 12-6. The Marauders led 10-0 after the first inning.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
