Charleston RiverDogs News Release

CHARLESTON, SC - Although the Charleston RiverDogs are recognized nationally for wacky promotions, this one is for real.

The Class A affiliate of the 27-time World Series Champions New York Yankees are looking throughout the Lowcountry for the top baseball mom and are asking for nominees to be submitted via an online contest.

The RiverDogs, who host the Lakewood BlueClaws at 5:05 pm on Mother's Day (May 8), are asking for baseball youngsters to submit in 100 words or less why their mom should be considered the "Lowcountry's Baseball Mom of the Year." The winner will be notified on Friday, May 6 and the family will be the guests of the RiverDogs on May 8 as part of another *Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission* *Family Sunday* game where the winning mom will be saluted - unless, of course, she is toting a youngster's team across town for practice. As an added perk, the winner will receive a special RiverDogs prize pack set to pamper mom on her special day.

Families wishing to submit entries should email the 100 words or less nomination to byof@riverdogs.com or post a video on the RiverDogs Facebook page. All nominees will receive a free ticket to the May 8 Mother's Day game and the winner will be on hand that day to throw out a ceremonial first pitch and receive her award as the "Lowcountry's Baseball Mom of the Year."
