LAST NIGHT: West Virginia beat Rome 10-4 on Monday. The Power rallied from a two-run deficit and took the lead for good in the sixth inning on a base hit by Rogelio Noris. Ryan Kelly picthed three shutout innings for his second win of the season, while newcomer Andy Vasquez had three hits to pace the offense. Ramon Cabrera drove in three, including two on a seventh inning single.

END OF THE ROAD: West Virginia's recently completed road trip was their final excursion for the 2010 season. The Power went 31-39 away from Charleston this season, hit .244 as a club, and held a staff ERA of 4.63. David Rubinstein led the club with a .317 road average, while Aaron Baker hit 12 of his 18 total home runs on the road. Phillip Irwin excelled on the road, going 3-0 with a 2.05 earned run average, while Kyle McPherson had a staff-best 57 strikeouts away from Appalachian Power Park. The 2009 version of the club went 34-36 away from home with a .260 average and a 4.45 ERA.

MAC THE MARAUDER: Kyle McPherson was promoted to Bradenton on Sunday. The right-hander leads the Power with nine wins and is second on the club with a 3.59 ERA. McPherson's 124 strikeouts this season also lead the Power and are fifth-most in the league. Over portions of two seasons with West Virginia, McPherson went 14-11 during 39 appearances with an earned run average of 4.25 while striking out 156 batters.

WHELCOME BHACK: Jhonathan Ramos will rejoin the Power to fill the roster vacancy created by Kyle McPherson's promotion to Bradenton. Ramos appeared in seven games for West Virginia from May 28 through June 20, going 0-1 with an ERA of 8.40. On June 23, the southpaw was transferred to the State College roster and pitched in 16 games for the Spikes, going 3-1 with two saves and a 1.62 earned run average. Ramos was signed as an international free agent from Venezuela on August 24, 2006.

ON THE RECORD: On Thursday night, West Virginia allowed a season-high 18 runs in a 17 run loss to Augusta, marking the largest margin of defeat in franchise history. The Power had not lost by more than 14 in any game dating back to 2005, including earlier this month when Phillip Irwin took the loss in the 17-3 final versus Lakewood and on May 17, 2005 when Asheville beat Yovanni Gallardo and West Virginia 14-0.

WALK OF LIFE: Evan Chambers still leads the South Atlantic League with 87 walks and still ranks in the top ten across all of Minor League Baseball, despite having not played since August 17. Conner Crumbliss of Kane County leads all minor leaguers with 118 walks. Chambers has an 11 walk lead over Jared Clark within the SAL.

POWER POINTS: Evan Chambers has not played since getting hit in the head by a pitch on 8/17... Jose Hernandez leads the club with nine games played this season where he has reached on three or more hits...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh dropped a 14-2 final at Chicago. The Cubs scored seven in the fourth and four in the fifth to set the clubs apart for good... Indianapolis lost 6-4 to Columbus... Altoona was shutout by Bowie 2-0... Bradenton edged Charlotte 3-2. Quincy Latimore had two hits and drove in one run... State College lost 6-2 at Batavia.
