Gamecock Club to Host Meet-And-Greet Opportunity with Coach Ray Tanner at RiverDogs Game

CHARLESTON, SC -- Talk about "Be Your Own Fan!" For one night at The Joe, you simultaneously can be a fan of the Charleston RiverDogs, the South Carolina Gamecocks and Coach Ray Tanner.

The Charleston RiverDogs have teamed with the Charleston-area Gamecock Club to welcome University of South Carolina baseball coach Ray Tanner to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on Wednesday, Sept. 1 (7:05 pm first pitch). As part of the City of Charleston's "Ray Tanner Day" in which he will receive a proclamation from Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr., the coach who guided the Gamecocks to their first national championship in baseball will throw the ceremonial first pitch of Wednesday's South Atlantic League game against the Greenville Drive to his former player, current RiverDogs left fielder DeAngelo Mack.

There will be a special meet-and-greet session with Coach Tanner that is open only to Gamecock Club and USC Alumni Association members starting at 7:30 after Coach Tanner's ceremonial first pitch and lasting through the fifth inning of Wednesday's game. The gathering will be held on first base side tented area, and those wishing to see Coach Tanner must have a wristband to enter the locale. In order to purchase a wristband, one must present his/her Gamecock Club or USC Alumni Association membership card.

Tickets and wristbands may be purchased from the designated table that will be clearly marked and located in front of Riley Park for $10.
