Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Chris Dominguez brought in four runs and came a home run short of the cycle, as the Augusta GreenJackets beat the BlueClaws 6-2 Tuesday night.

While Dominguez paced the offense with a perfect 4-for-4 night, Augusta (34-28) right-hander Andrew Reichard (5-1) recovered from a shaky start to limit the Claws to two runs through 5 1/3 innings, striking out seven.

Lakewood's (37-26) night offensively looked promising in the first. After Jiwan James was hit by a Reichard curveball, Michael Dabbs singled to center sending James to third. Jonathan Singleton then hit a mammoth sac-fly to left to score the first run.

Reichard would work out of the jam from there, recording two quick outs and retiring the next 14 BlueClaws he faced in a row.

In the meantime Augusta's offense evened the game against Brody Colvin (6-8) in the third, with Chris Dominguez hitting an RBI double. The Jackets then took the lead with three runs in the fifth.

With runners on the corners and no outs Nick Liles singled in a run, and one out later Dominguez tripled in two to push the GreenJackets lead to 4-1.

Entering the bottom of the six Reichard had allowed just one hit, but Alan Schoenberger belted a solo shot out to right to cut the deficit to two. It was Schoenberger's fifth homer, but the Claws would come no closer.

Chris Dominguez struck again in the seventh for Augusta. After a fielders choice ground out by Skyler Stromsmoe plated one run, Dominguez delivered another RBI base hit to give Augusta a 6-2 edge they wouldn't relinquish.

Colvin let up three runs on six hits through four to take the loss.

Wednesday at 7:05 pm RHP Trevor May (6-3, 3.05) will face GreenJackets RHP Brian Irving (7-5, 4.50).
