Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
Charleston, WV (August 31, 2006) -The West Virginia Power's final home game of the season against the Greensboro Grasshoppers was rained out on Thursday night.
The Power and Grasshoppers were scheduled to meet for the 16th and final time of the 2006 season, but the rain cancelled the game at Appalachian Power Park, and it will not be made up because the two teams will not meet again this season.
Those who had tickets to the game can exchange the tickets at the Power box office at 601 Morris Street for a ticket to the 2007 season opener.
The Power will begin their final series of the season against the Hickory Crawdads at L.P. Frans Stadium on Friday night. The Power will throw left hander Dave Welch (7-6, 2.45) and Hickory will counter with right hander Michael Crotta (1-1, 7.63). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
