The BlueClaws will begin postseason play on Wednesday, September 6. The BlueClaws have clinched a spot in the South Atlantic League Playoffs for the first time in team history and currently have a ten game lead in the Northern Division standings.
The BlueClaws will take on the Lexington Legends, the Single-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, in the first round of the playoffs. First pitch on Wednesday is slated for 7:05 and tickets are available now. Call the BlueClaws' ticket office to get your seats today at 732-901-7000.

The BlueClaws have four home games remaining during the regular season. Friday, September 1 and Sunday, September 3 will both be followed by a fireworks celebration.
2006 has been another record breaking season for BlueClaws crowds. To show our gratitude, September 4 has been named Fan Appreciation Night. In the past years we've given away money and a horse! Playoff Tickets on sale NOW
Lakewood set to play in postseason for the first time
The BlueClaws have put playoff tickets on sale. Lakewood has never had a playoff team in its previous five years.
The BlueClaws won the Northern Division and will play the Lexington Legends in a best-of-three game series beginning on Wednesday, September 6. The Legends have home field advantage for winning the first half of the S.A.L. season and the final two games of the series would be played in Lexington. The BlueClaws would then advance to play either the Rome Braves or the Augusta GreenJackets. Lakewood would have home field advantage for the best-of-five game Championship Series. The first two games would be played away from FirstEnergy Park. The BlueClaws would return for game three on Thursday, September 14. If necessary, games four and five would be play on September 15 and 16.

Matt Maloney honored by South Atlantic League
Southpaw gets league's highest award for a pitcher
Matt Maloney has had the best year on the mound on any BlueClaw in team history. The lefty has a shot at the S.A.L. Triple Crown this season. Maloney currently leads the league with 16 wins and 172 stikeouts while his ERA of 1.99 is second best.
The league's postseason All-Star team was annoucned on Tuesday. Maloney and Carlos Carrasco were named to the team from the BlueClaws roster. Maloney recieved the higher honor of being named the S.A.L.'s Most Outstanding Pitcher for the 2006 season. Maloney holds the Lakewood record for wins and strikeouts in a single season and his 16 wins is tied for the best in baseball.
