
Pospisil and Denny Reassigned to Chicago

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that Chad Denny and Tomas Pospisil have been re-assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League by the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League.
Denny and Pospisil were assigned to Gwinnett on March 3rd and appeared in both games with Gwinnett over the weekend on March 6th and 7th. Pospisil had 2 goals, including the game winner in Friday's 5-1 win over Charlotte, and an assist with Gwinnett. Denny had a goal for Gwinnett and was +1 in two games while with the Gladiators.
Prior to being reassigned to Gwinnett last week, Pospisil had 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points in 31 games this season with the Wolves. Denny has appeared in 33 games with the Wolves this season collecting 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points.
Pospisil and Denny both skated with the Gladiators during their rookie seasons with Gwinnett last year. Pospisil netted 18 goals and 23 assists for 41 points in 54 games last season with Gwinnett. He had 2 goals and 3 assists in 8 Kelly Cup Playoff games last season with the Gladiators. The Sumperk, Czech Republic native also had two assists in 11 games with the Wolves last season.
Denny had 13 points off of 7 goals and 6 assists in 48 games last season with the Gladiators. He was held scoreless in 8 Kelly Cup Playoff games last year with Gwinnett. Denny also saw action in 11 AHL game last season with the Wolves where he had 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points.
The Gladiators continue the 2008-09 season on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 as they travel to North Charleston, South Carolina to take on the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum at 7:05 p.m.
Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier 'AA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that will have 21 teams in 16 states and British Columbia playing 864 games from Oct. 17, 2008 to Apr. 4, 2009. Eighteen of the 23 teams have played at least five years in their current city.
The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.
