Pope loaned to Binghamton of the AHL

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced today that F Matt Pope has been loaned to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.
Pope, 24, has been among league scoring leaders for most of his rookie season. He scored his 30th goal of the season over the weekend, becoming the second rookie in as many years to reach the plateau, and currently ranks 6th in the league. His 63 points is tied for 7th in the ECHL, and third on the team, and has set a new Condors rookie record. Pope has 30g-33a-63pts in 54 games this season. He has a point in each of the last eight games in which he has dressed, with a five-game stint on the injured reserve in between.
The Bemidji State University grad was signed by the Condors to an ECHL contract this season. He signed a 25-game Professional Try-Out (PTO) with the Senators, who are the AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators. Pope is expected to make his AHL debut Tuesday night against the Portland Pirates. He will be the eighth Condor this season to spend time with an AHL club.

The Condors return to the Mercy and Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena for a pair of games against the Utah Grizzlies this weekend. Come take a look at what could have been, as the Condors will sport Bakersfield Brontos Specialty Jerseys in honor of the team name that was a finalist 11 years ago! The game-worn sweaters will be auctioned off after the game, plus everyone in attendance has the chance to win one of five to be given away! All proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Petroleum Shrine Club.

Individual game tickets may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days.
