Pigs Open Series at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will begin a brief two-game set with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Monday night at PNC Field with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. The IronPigs took two of three from Syracuse and sit in 4th place in the North Division at 46-56 on the year. The RailRiders swept Toledo in a three-game set and now stand in first place at 56-47 on the season.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (6-3, 4.06) gets the ball for the Pigs on Monday. The southpaw got the win on Tuesday vs. Toledo when he gave up one run on five hits while walking one and fanning two over six innings of work. Over his last 3 GS, Vasquez is 2-0 with a 1.89 ERA.

RHP Esmil Rogers (1-0, 3.38) will be on the bump for the RailRiders in the series opener. Rogers earned the win on Wednesday at Indianapolis after surrendering three runs on seven hits to go along with a walk and four strikeouts in 5.0 IP. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native has also appeared in 18 games with the Yankees this season, going 1-1 with a 6.27 ERA.

After tossing a pair of scoreless innings on Sunday, Pigs RHP Juan Gutierrez is now unscored upon in his last 5 G. In that time, Gutierrez has tossed 8.1 scoreless IP and has allowed five hits to go along with a walk and five strikeouts.
