
Pigs' Lineup leads the way in win over Mets

(Syracuse, NY) - The lineup for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (9-5) recorded a season-best 20 hits in their 16-1 win over the Syracuse Mets (2-12) on Wednesday night at NBT Bank Stadium. Cornelius Randolph and Austin Listi combined to go 9-for-11 with six RBI, four runs scored, and four doubles.
The Pigs' lineup broke the game open in the top of the third inning against Mets relief pitcher Oscar De La Cruz (1-1) by scoring seven runs in the inning. Mickey Moniak hit an RBI single to score David Parkinson and C.J. Chatham hit a two-run double to score Luke Williams and Ryan Cordell. Darick Hall hit an RBI groundout to score Moniak then Austin Listi hit a double to score Chatham. Cornelius Randolph followed up with a double to score Listi then Edgar Cabral hit an RBI single to score Randolph.
Lehigh Valley extended their lead to 10-0 in the top of the fourth inning against Trey Cobb when Moniak hit his first triple-A home run and Randolph hit a two-run double to score Chatham and Listi. Randolph doubled again in the top of the sixth inning against Cobb to bring in Ruben Tejada for a run and give Lehigh Valley an 11-0 lead.
Syracuse got a run in the bottom of the sixth inning when Quinn Brodey hit an RBI single against Ethan Evanko (2-0) to score Drew Ferguson. Randolph hit his second home run of the season in the top of the eighth inning against Arodys Vizcaino to extend the Pigs' lead to 12-1.
The IronPigs scored four more runs in the top of the ninth inning against Daniel Zamora to take a 16-1 lead. Williams scored on an RBI groundout that was followed by an RBI single from Tejada. Darick Hall hit a two-run home run, his second of the season.
Parkinson pitched four shutout innings for the Pigs. Ramon Rosso, Jeff Singer, and J.D. Hammer each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
The IronPigs and Mets play at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday evening at NBT Bank Stadium.
