
Pigs Drop First Game in Omaha

(Papillion, Neb) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (32-25) dropped their first game in Omaha on Thursday evening as they lost 12-3 to the Storm Chasers (28-27). The 'Pigs managed just four hits in the game.
Omaha took a 3-0 lead against Ricardo Sanchez (1-2) in the bottom of the first inning. Vinnie Pasquantino hit an RBI single that scored Nick Pratto. Clay Dungan followed with an RBI single that scored Brewer Hicklen and Nate Eaton hit an RBI single that scored Pasquantino.
Lehigh Valley scored a run against Daniel Mengden (5-3) in the top of the fourth inning as Jorge Bonifacio hit a sacrifice fly that scored Ali Castillo. The 'Pigs cut Omaha's lead to 3-1. The Storm Chasers extended their lead to 8-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Dungan hit an RBI double that scored Pasquantino. Nate Eaton hit a two-run home run against Sanchez that scored Dungan. Ivan Castillo hit a two-run single against Dillon Maples that scored Angelo Castellano and Dairon Blanco.
The 'Pigs scored two runs against Mengden in the top of the seventh inning that cut Omaha's lead to 8-3. Yairo Munoz hit an RBi single that scored Darick Hall and Bonifacio scored on a double play groundball hit by Dustin Peterson.
Francisco Morales gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning that gave Omaha a 12-3 lead.
The IronPigs and Storm Chasers will play again on Friday evening at Werner Park. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m.
