Pigs Begin 10-Game Road Trip

The Lehigh Valley will open a season-long 10-game road trip on Monday night when they take on the Toledo Mud Hens in the first of four at Fifth Third Field. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.

RHP Alec Asher (3-6, 4.73 w/ Triple-A Round Rock) will make his IronPigs debut in the series opener. Asher-who was acquired from the Rangers as part of the Cole Hamels trade-was tagged with the loss in his last start on Tuesday at Omaha (AAA) after giving up two runs on six hits to go along with a walk and four strikeouts in his six innings of work. Over his last 3 GS with Round Rock, the right-hander was 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA.

RHP Tim Melville (4-9, 5.06) gets the ball for Toledo on Monday. Melville's last start came on July 25 at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre when he was dealt the loss after giving up seven runs on four hits while walking six and fanning three in 5.0 IP. The Wentzville, Mo. native will be making his second start of the year against the Pigs. On July 20 at Coca-Cola Park, Melville got the win against Lehigh Valley when he did not allow an earned run over five innings of work.

Pigs INF Chase d'Arnaud has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games. In that time, d'Arnaud is hitting .359-1-5 with two doubles, a triple, 12 runs scored and nine stolen bases.
