Hershey Bears News Release

The Phantoms won for the 16th time in a row against AHL competition to tie a league record with a 4-2 win over the BEARS at Wachovia Center Friday night. The Phantoms got the scoring underway with Dennis Seidenberg's third goal of the season at the 4:30 mark of the first period. Ben Stafford won the puck back to Seidenberg who fired it past Tom Lawson into the top right corner of the net. Philadelphia mustered seven shots in the first period to HERSHEY'S six, and the Phantoms took a 1-0 lead to first intermission.

Philadelphia would take a 2-0 lead early in the second period when Freddy Meyer fired in a shot from the right point. Brett Clark would bring HERSHEY within a goal at 2-1 when he tipped in a back door shot on Philly goaltender Antero Niittimaki at the 12:28 mark of the second period. A late second period rally by the Phantoms would make the score more lopsided thanks to two goals by Ben Stafford. A power play goal at 17:56 and an even strength goal at 18:47 by Stafford would balloon Philly's lead to 4-1 going into second intermission.

Mathieu Darche scored the only goal of the third period, a rebound tally off a Jeff Ulmer shot that rounded out the scoring.

The BEARS will host Philadelphia Saturday night at GIANT Center. Face-off is set for 7:00 p.m., with tickets available at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 534-3911. It's the last home game for HERSHEY until Saturday, December 11
