Worcester IceCats News Release
WORCESTER, MA - Former Boston College Eagle Chuck Kobasew scored twice and added an assist as the Lowell Lock Monsters beat the Worcester IceCats 4-0 Friday night at the DCU Center. It was Lowell's first road win in seven tries this season. Brent Krahn made 27 saves for his second consecutive shutout and fourth straight win.
The line of Kobasew, Colin Forbes and Eric Staal factored into each of Lowell's goals. The trio accounted for seven points in the game, and has collected 66 of Lowell's 134 points this season. They have also scored 43 of Lowell's 67 goals.
Worcester managed some excellent first period scoring attempts on breakaways by Brendan Brooks, Jon DiSalvatore and Brendan Buckley, but Krahn made big saves to boost his team. Lowell responded by shutting down Worcester's power play on eight chances.
The 10-6-1 IceCats play host to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Saturday in Worcester, closing out a six-game homestand. Face off is set for 7:05PM. The first 1,000 fans will receive a one-of-a-kind IceCats puck.
