Phillies Broadcaster Has Thunder Roots
PHILADELPHIA -- When Tom McCarthy left the Phillies a few years ago to become the Mets' radio voice, the first person to call him was Harry Kalas.
When McCarthy came back to the Phillies last year to split time between the radio and television booths, again the first person he heard from was Kalas.
"The first time he called to wish me well," McCarthy said. "The next time was to tell me how happy he was I was coming back."
