
Penguins snap skid 6-1 win in Bridgeport

RECENT ACTION: The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins put an end to their three-game losing streak with an emphatic 6-1 win against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday night at the Arena at Harbor Yard.
Leading the way for the Penguins was Jeff Taffe, who registered his third career AHL hat trick in the game. Jonathan Filewich picked up his first two goals of the season, and Connor James added his first, as the Pens raised their record to 3-3-0-0 on the year.
Ty Conklin made his sixth consecutive start in goal, stopping 32 shots to pick up the win.
UPCOMING ACTION: The Penguins return to the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza for a pair of contests this weekend.
Friday night, the Penguins play host to the Albany River Rats at 7:05pm. Albany enters this week's action with a 2-2-0-1 record, good for five points and fourth place in the East Division.
The first 6,000 fans in attendance will receive a free 2007-2008 Penguins Team Calendar, sponsored by Coors Light. The 13-month calendar features photos of 17 different Penguins players during a recent photo shoot held at Gallucci Music in downtown Scranton.
The following night, the Binghamton Senators pay their first visit of the year to Wilkes-Barre, with game time also slated at 7:05pm. The Senators carry a 2-3-0-0 record for four points and fifth place in the East Division into this week.
Saturday night's game can also be seen live on WQMY, MyNetwork TV, starting at 7:00pm
