Admirals Split First Two Home Games, Prepare for Two More

NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals opened the 2007-08 home slate with mixed results this past weekend. On Friday night, the Admirals opened their '07-08 home schedule with a 5-1 victory over the Binghamton Senators at Scope. The next night, the Senators flipped the tables by defeating Norfolk 5-1 at Scope.

The Admirals are now preparing for a busy upcoming weekend with two home games and a road contest. On Friday night, Norfolk hosts the Philadelphia Phantoms at 7:15. On Saturday Night, the Admirals host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:15. The Admirals then travel to Philadelphia for a 5:05 p.m. matchup with the Phantoms.

ADMIRALS' LOG

- Norfolk's crowd of 5,627 was the second-largest home opener crowd since joining the AHL in 2000. The first game Norfolk Admirals history on October 6, 2000 versus the Hershey Bears drew 6,184 fans to Scope.

- In Friday night's win over Binghamton, 13 different Admirals had points with seven players recording their first points of the season.

- The Admirals are now 5-2-1-0-0 all-time in AHL home openers.

- In their first game of the season since completing the immigration process, Rob Klinkhammer (0+1), Justin Taylor (1+1) and Shawn Collymore (0+1) all registered points on Friday night vs. Binghamton.

- After killing only 13 of 18 opponent power plays (72.2%) over its first two games, Norfolk has killed 17 of the last 19 opponent power plays ( 89.5%) in its last four games.

- Norfolk only allowed Binghamton four power play opportunities in two games this past weekend.

- The following firsts occurred last week:
