ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that defenseman Brett Peterson has been recalled to Albany from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Peterson, who turned 26 on Sunday, attended the River Rats training camp in September and was in Albany's lineup for both preseason games against Syracuse. The former Boston College defenseman is in his 4th year as a professional, playing 211 career games (all in the ECHL), while recording 60 points (17 goals, 43 assists) and 235 penalty minutes. A native of Northborough, Massachusetts Peterson is no stranger to the Times Union Center; his Boston College team won the 2001 NCAA Ice Hockey Championship in Albany, then known as the Pepsi Arena.

Since the beginning of their 2007 training camp the River Rats have reassigned nine players to the Florida Everblades, with Peterson being the first of those players to be recalled to Albany.

The River Rats complete their four-game home stand on Wednesday October 24th as they host the Syracuse Crunch for a 7:00 pm face off at the Times Union Center. Friday, October 26th Albany will travel to Pennsylvania for their first meeting of the season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Sunday the River Rats are in Hershey for a 5:00 pm game against the Bears.
