Wednesday, Bruins 4 vs. DEVILS 1

Mark Pandolfo prevented a shutout by scoring with 13 seconds remaining in regulation, but the Providence Bruins wrapped up a 4-1 victory over the Devils on Wednesday night. T.J. Trevelyan scored twice for the Bruins, while Tukka Rask made 19 saves for the win.

Saturday, SHARKS 2 vs. Devils 1

Ivan Khomutov started out the scoring for the Devils, but Worcester bounced back and claimed a narrow 2-1 victory over Lowell on home ice Saturday night. Frank Doyle was strong in net, stopping 33 of 35 Sharks shots, but it wasn't enough in this first meeting with Worcester on the season.

In the standings

The Devils sit in seventh place in the Atlantic Division, just one point behind Hartford and two points behind fourth-place Manchester and Portland. Springfield is in first place in the division, but they have played eight games already this season.

Roster changes

D Sheldon Brookbank suited up for the Devils on Saturday night, having been reassigned by New Jersey on a conditioning loan. G Dave Caruso was recalled from Trenton (ECHL) on Saturday as well, and backed up Frank Doyle in the game. Both players were returned on Sunday.

Coming Up

Wednesday night is Dollar Dawg Night with the Lowell Devils, as they host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:05 p.m. Hot dogs cost just $1 during every Wednesday home game of the season.

The Devils and Manchester Monarchs meet up for the first time this season on Friday night from Verizon Wireless Arena. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and can be heard on 980 WCAP, as well as online through B2 Networks, by following the link on the Devils website, at www.lowelldevilshockey.com.

The Devils return home to Lowell on Saturday afternoon for a matinee showdown with the Providence Bruins. One lucky fan will win a free Disney Trip, courtesy of Liberty Travel of Nashua. Around the Horns

D Mark Fraser has an assist in three of the last four games.

Devils goaltenders Frank Doyle and Jordan Parise have made 31 or more saves in every game but one this season.

Lowell, the least penalized team in the AHL, has given their opponents just 14 power plays through five games. Worcester has been shorthanded 16 times in four games, but no other team has been shorthanded less than 26 times this season.

Lowell Devils graduate Rod Pelley recorded his first career NHL point on Saturday, notching an assist on Jay Pandolfo's goal for New Jersey against the New York Islanders.
