
Penguins Sign Goalie Casey DeSmith

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed goaltender Casey DeSmith to a professional tryout contract.
DeSmith 24, is in his first season of professional hockey and has appeared in 13 games with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) this year. The rookie posted a 2.55 goals against average, .915 save percentage, and a 5-2-0-2 record in that time.
DeSmith previously joined the Penguins on a PTO earlier this season on Dec. 18, 2015. In two games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, DeSmith posted a 1.50 goals against average, a .935 save percentage, and won his first career game in his first career AHL start on Jan 3, 2016 at Hartford.
The Penguins' next home game is today, Sunday, Apr. 10, at 4:05 p.m. against the Hershey Bears.
