Capitals Recall Sill from Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Zach Sill from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

Sill, 27, has scored one goal in nine games with the Capitals this season. He made his Capitals debut on Dec. 20 against Buffalo and scored his first Capitals goal on Jan. 10 against Ottawa. Sill has registered five points (two goals, three assists) and 98 penalty minutes in 92 career NHL games with Pittsburgh, Toronto and Washington. He was signed by Washington as a free agent on July 16, 2015.

Sill has earned 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) and 49 penalty minutes in 60 games with Hershey (AHL) this season. The Truro, Nova Scotia, native served as an alternate captain for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) in 2013-14 and helped lead the team to the Eastern Conference Final in the 2014 Calder Cup playoffs. In 2010-11, Sill recorded AHL career highs in games played (80), goals (11), assists (19), points (30) and plus/minus (+16). He has tallied 92 points (40 goals, 52 assists) and 364 penalty minutes in 337 AHL games with Hershey and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
