Pen Keeps Erie at Bay

The Senators snapped their mini two-game losing streak to Erie with a 3-2 win Thursday night at FNB Field. Erie scored first in the first with a run, but the Senators scored a run in the first to tie the game then two more in the second to take a 3-1 lead. The Sens bullpen took over from starter Cade Cavalli and shut down the SeaWolves.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Cade Cavalli started and went five innings striking out eight. He allowed a run on three hits while walking three. Cade faced 21 batters, throwing 100 pitches, 57 for strikes.

Andrew Lee went three solid innings allowing an unearned run while striking out four. He faced just 12 batters in the three frames.

Jhon Romero earned the save by throwing a scoreless ninth inning.

WITH THE GAVEL

Cole Freeman had two hits for the second straight game, drove in a run and scored a run.

Jackson Cluff had an RBI double in the first inning and a sacrifice fly in the third inning.

Gilbert Lara had an RBI single.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators defense came up big as Nick Banks threw out a runner at second and Gilbert Lara started a 5-4-3 double play in the ninth inning to preserve the lead. The Sens went 2-10 with runners in scoring position while stranding nine.

ON DECK

The Senators and Erie SeaWolves play game four of their six-game series Friday at 7:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:40 p.m.
