Harrisburg, Penn. - The Somerset Patriots (33-18) and Harrisburg Senators (20-31) split Friday night's doubleheader at FNB Field. The Patriots took game one 7-0, while the Senators salvaged the night with a 5-2 win in game two.

JP Sears and Janson Junk (W, 4-1) combined to work a seven-inning, four-hit shutout of the Senators in game one. Sears allowed two hits and struck out six over four innings, while Junk struck out a pair over the final three innings to finish Somerset's seventh shutout win of the year.

The Patriots grabbed an early lead in the second on a Dermis Garcia (14) home run and a Thomas Milone sacrifice fly.

Somerset added three runs in the sixth - including a Milone two-run double - and two more in the seventh to extend its lead.

Oswaldo Cabrera led the way offensively for the Patriots. The Venezuelan infielder went 3-for-4 with a home run (8), two runs scored and three RBI. Cabrera's two-run homer in the seventh capped game one's scoring.

Harrisburg starter Mario Sanchez (L, 1-5) allowed five runs on eight hits over 5.2 innings of work to suffer the loss.

The Senators struck first in game two with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Aldrem Corridor and KJ Harrison each plated a run on respective infield singles before a Jakson Reetz RBI double made it a 3-0 Harrisburg lead.

Somerset responded the next half inning on an Isiah Gilliam two-run single to make it a one-run game, but would get no closer.

Harrisburg plated two more runs in the bottom of the fourth on a Corredor base hit to right field. That provided the final score for the game.

Jhon Romero (W, 1-1) tossed 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. Hayden Wesneski (L, 1-2) took the loss after he allowed five runs (four earned) on 11 hits and six strikeouts over 5.0 innings of work.

Somerset and Harrisburg continue their six-game series Saturday night. Right-hander Glenn Otto () takes the mound for the Patriots against righty Andrew Lee (2-2, 2.27 ERA) for the Senators. First pitch at FNB Field is set for 7:00 p.m.021
