
Parmelee Hits Game Winner in Ninth

Chris Parmelee had the chance to play hero for the Snappers and took full advantage of it. With one out, runners on first and second, and the Snappers down 3-2, Parmelee hit his fifth homer of the season to right, giving Beloit the 5-3 win over Kane County.
The Snappers scored first in the bottom of the fourth inning off the bat of Danny Valencia. Valencia hit his eighth home run of the season and gave the Snappers the early advantage, 1-0.
The bottom of the fifth inning belonged to Beloit's Garrett Olson. He hit his first home run of the season to left and stretched the Snappers' lead to 2-0.
After the Cougars scratched their way back to a 2-2 tie, they took the lead in the top of the ninth inning. Kane County's Todd Johnson hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Jermaine Mitchell from third and giving the Cougars a 3-2 lead.
Beloit's Danny Valencia started the bottom of the ninth off with a walk. One batter later, Joe Benson walked and brought up the Twins' 2006 first round draft pick, Chris Parmelee. Parmelee did not disappoint, hitting his fifth homer of the season, sending the Snappers' fans home happy.
Upcoming schedule: The Snappers play game four of five with the Kane County Cougars on Thursday at 6:30 pm. Beloit's Adam Hawes goes against Kane County's Jason Fernandez. Beloit's record is now 33-18.
