
Pankewicz, Schneekloth Named All-Star Starters

WINDSOR, Colo. - Colorado Eagles Captain Greg Pankewicz and defenseman Aaron Schneekloth have been selected as starters for the Northern Conference in the CHL All-Star game January 16 at the Broomfield Event Center, home of the Rocky Mountain Rage. Starters were selected through balloting among CHL Head Coaches, Communications Departments and media members from each market.
It will be the fourth CHL All-Star appearance for Pankewicz (he also made it in '04, '05 and '06) and the second for Schneekloth ('06) -- his first with the Eagles. Pankewicz earned All-Star Game MVP honors in '05, racking up nine points (5-4-9) and scoring in the shootout to help the Northern team prevail, 14-13.
Pankewicz enters the weekend with 36 points (9-27-36) -- tied for eight in the league -- and 124 penalty minutes. Fourteen of his 36 points have come on the power play (4-10-14), and he has notched four game-winning goals. His 27 assists place him fourth in the CHL in that category, and his plus/minus ranking of +13 ties him for fifth overall. He leads the Eagles in points, assists, penalty minutes, game-winners and plus/minus.
Schneekloth enters the weekend tied for third among defemsemen with 26 points (13-13-26); his 13 goals are tops in the league for a d-man. Twelve of his 26 points have come with the extra man (7-5-12) and his seven power play goals lead the league among defensemen. He's also tops among CHL blueliners with a shooting percentage of .176. He leads Colorado's defensemen in points, goals and shooting percentage and is tied for first in assists.
The other starters for the Northern Conference are: Forwards Scott Wray (RMR) and Brent Cullaton (RMR), Defenseman Mike Burgoyne (OKC) and Goaltender Andy Franck (YNG)
The starters for the Southern Conference are: Forwards Tyler Redenbach (ARZ), Jeff Bes (LAR) and Dominic Leveille (ODE), Defensemen Serge Dube (LAR) and Sean Sullivan (ARZ) and Goaltender Dustin Traylen (LAR).
