June 1, 2018 - International League (IL1)
Norfolk Tides News Release

Adrian Marin singled three times and Yefry Ramirez turned in a strong start, but Rochester used two home runs to top the Tides 3-1 Friday night at Harbor Park.

Ramirez (2-4) took the tough-luck loss after allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings of work. He carried a shutout into the sixth frame, but Rochester opened the inning with back-to-back solo home runs from Jake Cave and Chris Carter to take a 2-1 advantage. Ramirez walked one and struck out six over his outing, throwing 62 of his 93 pitches for strikes en route to turning in his fourth Quality Start of the season.

The homers continued a big turnaround for the Red Wings, as Rochester has now hit 19 home runs in 13 games since May 22 after opening the year with 16 round trippers through their first 38 games.

Adalberto Mejia (1-1) earned the win after allowing a run on five hits over six innings, while Trevor May worked the final three frames to register his first save of the season.

Marin singled three times in the setback as Norfolk dropped its fifth consecutive decision. Ruben Tejada had two singles - including an RBI knock in the fourth inning - to help pace the Tides' six-hit attack. Over the five-game losing skid, Norfolk has scored just seven runs while registering three total extra-base hits.

The two clubs will continue their three-game set on Saturday night at Harbor Park, with first pitch slated for 7:05. Jimmy Yacabonis (1-1, 3.21) is set to make the start for Norfolk and will be opposed by right-hander Zack Little (1-1, 2.57). Saturday is Teacher Appresciation Night at Harbor Park, as fans can donate school supplies to receive a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer, presented by The Real Estate Group and Atlantic Bay Mortgage. There will also be a postgame fireworks extravaganza, presented by Wawa.
