The first-place Lehigh Valley IronPigs welcome in the first-place Toledo Mud Hens to Coca-Cola Park for a three-game series starting tonight at 7:05 p.m. The Mud Hens have the top record in the IL at 33-19.
PITCHING MATCHUP
Enyel De Los Santos takes the ball in the opener against Kyle Dowdy. Today's starting pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle. Learn more at affc.com.
De Los Santos leads the IL in ERA and goes for his sixth win of the season, which would tie him with teammate Cole Irvin for the IL lead. De Los Santos is 5-2 with a 1.40 ERA. In 51.1 innings pitched, he has 56 strikeouts and has held opponents to a .194 batting average. Dowdy was a late starter announcement, replacing Jordan Zimmerman.
LAST NIGHT
The IronPigs fell to Charlotte 6-2 Thursday Night at Coca-Cola Park. The Pigs struck first with Danny Ortiz and Trevor Plouffe hitting back-to-back home runs off Knights starter Jordan Stephens in the fourth inning. The Knights rallied with one run in the fifth and four in the sixth to take control and win the series. Click here to read a full recap.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
This is the first meeting between the Mud Hens and the IronPigs this season. They will meet seven times, three at Coca-Cola Park and a four-game series at Toledo in July.
The Pigs and Mud Hens split the season series in 2017 going 3-3 with each teams winning two games at home. Lehigh Valley leads the all-time series 42-35.
