Red-Hot Knights Beat the Bisons 10-4 Friday

(BUFFALO, NY) -- Left fielder Alex Presley launched a three-run home run in a six-run fifth inning to help propel the Charlotte Knights to a 10-4 win over the Buffalo Bisons in the opening game of their three-game series from Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, NY on Friday. With the win, the Knights have now won six of their last eight games.

Offensively, the Knights tallied 13 hits and 10 runs in game one of the series. Presley, who finished the game 2-for-4 with the home run and three RBIs, was one of five Knights on the night with a multi-hit game. His three RBIs and three runs scored led the way for the surging Knights.

Center fielder Jacob May continued his hot hitting and extended his hit streak to six games. May, who is hitting .417 (10-for-24) over that six-game span, finished Friday's game 2-for-4 with a runs scored. Designated hitter Mason Robbins also continued his hot stretch. Robbins, who recorded three hits on Thursday, had two more hits on Friday to extend his hit streak to five consecutive games.

While Charlotte's offense was impressive on Friday, the team also received a solid performance from starting pitcher Donny Roach (5-2, 3.60), who earned his team-high fifth win of the season. The 28-year-old right-hander allowed four runs (two earned) on nine hits over 6.2 innings pitched. He pitched into the seventh inning and threw a total of 101 pitches on the night. He walked three and struck-out three.

RHP Gregory Infante recorded the final four outs to earn his third save of the season.

The Knights will continue their three-game series against the Buffalo Bisons from Buffalo, NY on Saturday. RHP Michael Kopech is scheduled to start game two for Charlotte.
