P-Bruins host "Bruin Pride Weekend"

The Providence Bruins begin the week in third place in the Atlantic Division with their 26-20-10-3 record (65 points). The Black and Gold is coming off three straight road games, in which the team won all three in overtime. Head Coach Scott Gordon's team is now just two points behind the second place Manchester Monarchs, and is 5-3-10 in overtime games this season. The Bruins have been one of the AHL's most successful teams in tight games. Of the Bruins' 59 games this season, 27 have been decided by one goal. The Bruins are 16-8-0-3 in those contests.

Bruin center Andre Savage has continued to pace the team on the scoresheet. He leads the team with 16-25-41 totals in 55 games, and has 15-25-40 totals in 47 games since being acquired on loan from the Philadelphia Phantoms on October 29. The 28-year-old native of Ottawa, Ontario ranks third in franchise history, with 70-99-169 totals in 175 games. Savage is three points shy of tying former Bruin Tim Sweeney for second place. Former Bruin and current Minnesota Wild forward Sergei Zholtok is the all-time leader, with 186 points. Savage had 2-3-5 totals in the Bruins' three overtime wins over the weekend.

The Bruins will host "Bruin Pride Weekend" this weekend. They host the Hershey Bears on Friday, March 5 at 7:05 p.m. Following a game in Springfield the next night, the club is back on home ice to host the Portland Pirates on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. All fans will receive a free Providence Bruins bumper sticker at the two home games, courtesy of True Value Hardware.

The Bruins and WSKO AM-790, The Score are teaming up this week for their second blood drive. The drive will be held on Wednesday, March 3 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Rhode Island Blood Center at 405 Promenade St. in Providence. Donors will receive a free pair of Providence Bruins tickets, while supplies last. There will also be a raffle for donors to win a free autographed Providence Bruins stick. Bruin players Ivan Huml, Zdenek Kutlak and Milan Jurcina will be available for autographs and pictures from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Bruins will host their fourth and final "Tip-A-Bruin" night of the season, on Wednesday, March 3. The event will be held at Dave & Buster's in the Providence Place Mall from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Bruin players will be on hand to help the waitstaff, and sell discounted P-Bruins game tickets, as well as raffle tickets for autographed Bruins' sticks. All proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Rhode Island. The Bruin players at the event will be Colton Orr, Pat Leahy, Brett Nowak and Mike Gellard.

The ninth edition of "Providence Bruins Weekly Presented by National City Mortgage" will air on WSKO AM-790 on Tuesday, March 2 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The show, hosted by Adam Alper, will feature Providence Bruins Head Coach Scott Gordon and Bruin forwards Colton Orr and Pat Leahy. In addition, Kathy Connolly of the Rhode Island Blood Center will talk about Wednesday's blood drive. Boston Bruins Head Coach Mike Sullivan will be the special guest.
