
P-Bruins Fall To Sound Tigers 4-1

Bridgeport, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-1 Saturday evening at the Arena at Harbor Yard. The P-Bruins got their lone goal from Zach Hamill. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Amica Lip Balm Night against the Lowell Devils.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 advantage only 56 seconds into the opening period. John Lammers skated into the zone and dropped the puck off for Jordan Knackstedt. He passed the puck to Hamill in the left face-off circle, who tallied his 13th goal of the season. The Sound Tigers tied the game at one at the 4:37 mark. Jeremy Reich netted his fifth goal of the season, while Mark Wotton and Michael Haley recorded the assists. Bridgeport took its first lead of the game at the 16:55 mark, while on the power play. Sean Bentivoglio scored his 16th goal of the season, with Wotton and Reich picking up the assists. The Sound Tigers led 2-1 going into the first intermission.
The Sound Tigers made it 3-1 at the 11:07 mark of the second period. Reich tallied his second goal of the game and sixth goal of the season, while Greg Mauldin and Brendan Witt had the assists. Bridgeport scored again to take a 4-1 lead at the 14:59 mark. Bentivoglio netted his second goal of the game and 17th goal of the season, while Mike Radja and Trevor Smith grabbed the assists. Bridgeport led 4-1 going into the second intermission.
After a scoreless third period, the Sound Tigers went onto the 4-1 victory.
Kevin Regan stopped 14 of 18 shots and Matt Dalton stopped all 14 shots he faced for the P-Bruins, while Scott Munroe made 28 saves for the Sound Tigers. The P-Bruins were 0-for-5 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
