ABBOTSFORD BC - The Abbotsford Heat scored three unanswered goals in the second period and defeated the Worcester Sharks 5-4 in AHL action on Friday night at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
The line of Colin Stuart, Jason Jaffray and David Van der Gulik would combine for eight points in the win for the HEAT, who maintains sole possession of second place in the North Division with the victory. Stuart had two goals, while Van Der Gulik, Cam Cunning and Olivier Latendresse would add singles as well. Leland Irving would get his first start in goal since a 7-1 loss versus Houston in late January and get the win for Abbotsford.
TJ Trevelyan, Michael Wilson, Brandon Mashinter and Logan Couture would supply goals for the Sharks, who have now lost three straight to the Heat in the past seven days. Alex Stalock would allow five goals on thirty three shots and take the loss in the Sharks net.
These two clubs will face each other for the final time in the regular season on Saturday night in Abbotsford. Game time at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre is at 6 pm.
