April 1, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Anaheim Ducks have recalled defenseman NATHAN OYSTRICK (OY-strihk) from the Chicago Wolves.
OYSTRICK, who was acquired by Anaheim from Atlanta in exchange for Evgeny Artyukhin and a conditional draft choice in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft on March 1, ranks third among Wolves defensemen with 16 assists and fourth among team blueliners with 23 points in 43 contests this season. He ranks second on the team with 96 penalty minutes and has registered a +5 plus/minus rating during his fourth professional campaign.
The 27-year-old defenseman made his National Hockey League debut with the Thrashers last season, netting eight assists, 12 points and 50 penalty minutes in 53 outings.
The Regina, Saskatchewan, native has appeared in 205 career AHL outings with the Wolves from 2005 to present, collecting 37 goals, 77 assists, 114 points and 317 penalty minutes. He also has skated in 39 Calder Cup playoff matchups with Chicago, amassing 17 points (3G, 14A), and was a member of the Wolves 2008 Calder Cup championship team.
Prior to turning pro, OYSTRICK spent four seasons at Northern Michigan University (CCHA) from 2002 to 2006 where he racked up 89 points (26G, 63A) and 269 penalty minutes in 151 games.
The Wolves take on the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. For more information, or to purchase tickets for Chicago's two remaining regular-season home games, or the first round of the 2010 Calder Cup playoffs, call 1-800-THE-WOLVES or visit chicagowolves.com.
