Help Give The Good Shepherd Food Bank A Ton Of Help

April 1, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Portland Pirates News Release

Portland, Maine - Celebrate Easter this Sunday when the Pirates face-off against the Providence Bruins at 4 p.m. and help the Pirates top the one ton mark in donations to the Good Shepherd Food Bank this season.

In two previous collections this season Pirates fans have graciously donated 1,300 pounds to the Good Shepherd Food Bank leaving us only 700 pounds away from a ton. Plus, donate a non-perishable food item to the effort and receive a pair of tickets to the Pirates regular season finale on Sunday, April 11th against the Worcester Sharks.

As part of the game day entertainment the Easter Bunny will be in attendance, magician Dennis Labby from Magical Wonders will be performing magic tricks, and Jeremy Remain from Twisted Entertainment will be making balloon animals. Plus, fans of all ages are invited to stop by Customer Service and guess how many candies are in the Pirates Easter Candy Jar. The fan who comes the closest will take it home after the game!

It's also a Pirates Student Achiever Game as we welcome Student Achievers and their families from across the state to the game. There's still time to become a Pirates Student Achiever. Visit portlandpirates.com for complete information.

Tickets for the game are available by calling (207) 775-3458, visiting the Cumberland County Civic Center Box Office or going on-line at portlandpirates.com.

The Pirates return to action tomorrow (Friday) when they travel to Springfield to meet the Falcons in a 7:30 p.m. start. Saturday Portland is in Bridgeport to face the Sound Tigers at 7 p.m. Both games can be heard live on News Talk WLOB 95.5 FM or on-line at portlandpirates.com beginning with the pre-game show 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off.
