RENO - Arizona Diamondbacks top prospect Braden Shipley (@shipley25) outdueled two-time National League Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum in a star-studded pitching matchup Tuesday afternoon at Greater Nevada Field. Playing in front of 10,185 fans - the third-largest crowd in franchise history - the Aces scored four runs in the first and another four in the seventh to run away with an 11-2 victory, giving them another series win to wrap the eight-game homestand.

The Aces (30-28) capitalized on two errors and a shaky first by Lincecum to open up an early lead. An error and two walks loaded the bases with one away for Kyle Jensen, and Jensen promptly smashed a two-run single into left, giving the Aces the lead for good. Moments later, Zach Borenstein added a run-scoring single to push the lead to three. Jensen capped the outburst by scoring on a throwing error when Borenstein swiped his first of three stolen bases on the afternoon.

After allowing a leadoff single in the first, Shipley sat down 11 of the next 12 batters he faced. His counterpart, Lincecum, found a groove as well, retiring 14 of the next 15 batters, including six strikeouts.

The Bees (27-30) plated single runs off Shipley in the middle innings to cut the Aces' lead in half. Ryan Jackson hit an RBI single in the fifth, and Kaleb Cowart hit his third home run of the season in the sixth, accounting for the only runs the 24-year-old surrendered over his team-high eighth quality start.

With Lincecum removed from the game at 95 pitches thru five innings, the Aces tacked on in the sixth against the Bees' (27-30) bullpen when Jensen launched a two-run shot off A.J. Achter. In the seventh, Mike Freeman (@MikeBFree5) and Todd Glaesmann (@toddglaesmann22) recorded consecutive singles against David Carpenter, before Peter O'Brien and Socrates Brito (@SocratesBrito) drew back-to-back walks, the latter scoring Reno's seventh run. Jensen drove in his fifth RBI of the game on a sacrifice fly, and Borenstein ripped a two-run double to left, extending the lead to 10-2.

O'Brien drove home Mark Thomas with a run-scoring double in the eighth to conclude the scoring. The two-out, two-bag knock gave the 25-year-old slugger at least one RBI in each of his last nine games.

Shipley (4-3) picked up his first win since May 11 with six innings of four-hit ball. Lincecum (0-2) scattered three hits while allowing four runs (two earned) with two walks and six strikeouts. The Aces' bullpen combined for three shutout innings and five strikeouts, led by Dominic Leone (@DLeone54) and Silvino Bracho (@silvinobracho) who each had two.

The Aces totaled 74 runs over the eight-game homestand and were led by O'Brien and Jensen who totaled 20 and 18 RBI, respectively.

Following a league-wide off day on Wednesday, the Aces open a 12-game road trip with a four-game set against the Tacoma Rainiers on Thursday. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. PT. Reno will send right-hander Matt Buschmann (1-5, 6.57) to the bump, while the Rainiers have not yet named a starter.
