Salt Lake Bees News Release
RENO, NEVADA - The Salt Lake Bees dropped the series finale to the Reno Aces in an 11-2 loss in Tim Lincecum's second start for the team on Tuesday afternoon. Lincecum's threw five innings, allowing three hits, four runs (two earned), two walks with six strikeouts in his second loss of the season. The first inning was rocky for Lincecum as he allowed two hits and two walks and combined with two Bees errors the Aces brought home four runs in the opening frame. The two-time Cy Young winner struck out the side in the second inning and retired 14 of the final 15 batters he faced.
The Bees made a rally back in the fifth and sixth innings with an RBI single from Ryan Jackson and a solo home run from Kaleb Cowart to cut the score in half to cut the deficit to 4-2. Reno would put the game out of reach with two runs in the sixth, four in the seventh and one in the eighth to make up the final score. Reno drew 10,185 fans to Greater Nevada Field to watch Lincecum pitch, the third largest crowd in their team history. The Bees take Wednesday off before starting a four-game series at Fresno on Thursday night.
