
Sky Sox Longest Homestand Begins Monday

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Colorado Springs Sky Sox return to Security Service Field for their longest homestand of the season on Monday, June 12. The 14-game homestand features four game sets with the Chicago Cubs top affiliate, the Iowa Cubs, and the Kansas City Royals top affiliate, the Omaha Storm Chasers. The homestand ends with a six game series against the St. Louis Cardinals' top affiliate, the Memphis Redbirds.
The homestand begins with Kids Eat Free day on Monday June 13, courtesy of ARC Thrift Store. It is also Must-Win Monday, guaranteeing a free ticket to a future Monday game at Security Service Field during the 2016 season with a Sox win and valid ticket from the game.
$2 Tuesday's return on June 14 courtesy of South Colorado Springs Nissan. Fans can enjoy $2 tickets, parking, and Coors and Coors Light through the seventh inning.
Wednesday's game will be Kids Day, with Minions from the popular Disney movie Despicable Me at the game to entertain the fans. Local business community members are also invited out to enjoy the sun and 12:35 p.m. matinee game.
Thursday's finale against the Cubs will be Thirsty Thursday featuring $3 craft brews sponsored by Rocky Mountain Coors. Thursday's game also will be a Military Appreciation Night sponsored by First Command. The Sky Sox will be wearing their special red, white, and blue alternate jerseys for the game. Current, veteran, and former members of the military can pickup free tickets at their base's MWR office.
Friday night Fireworks return after the series opener against Omaha on June 17. Following the 7:05 p.m. game, fireworks will light up the sky to the tunes of boy bands and divas thanks to Small Town Brewery.
Saturday's game will feature the first theme night of the year as it is Star Wars night at Security Service Field on June 18. Fans are welcome to dress up in costume, and a costume contest will take place at the game. Saturday's game will also feature Star Wars themed postgame fireworks courtesy of Phil Long.
For Father's Day on Sunday, dads and their families will have the unique opportunity to play catch on the outfield grass from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the 1:35 p.m. game against Omaha. Sunday's game also features a Fielder's Glove giveaway courtesy of The Navigators. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under through the gates will get a fielder's glove. On Sunday, fans can also enjoy 50 cent hot dogs courtesy of Albertsons/Safeway.
The Omaha series concludes with another Must-Win Monday and Kids Eat Free Monday courtesy of ARC Thrift Store on June 20.
The series with Memphis opens up on Tuesday, June 21 with the second $2 Tuesday of the homestand courtesy of South Colorado Springs Nissan.
Wednesday's matinee game will be another Kids Day, and the Minions will be at the park again at the start of a 12:35 p.m. doubleheader against the Redbirds.
On Thursday, fans can once again enjoy $3 Thirsty Thursday courtesy of Rocky Mountain Coors. Fans will also have the opportunity to win a PlayStation on Thursday courtesy of USO, as 10 consoles will be given out over the course of the doubleheader.
The homestand concludes with Friday Night Fireworks following the Sky Sox 7:05 p.m. matchup against Memphis courtesy of UC Health. The fireworks will be set to the tunes of top hits.
