Bees Win Nail-Biter over Aces

Reno, NV - The Salt Lake Bees snapped their five game losing streak, as they edged the Reno Aces 6-5 on Monday night. Salt Lake broke a 5-5 tie in the fifth inning, as Kaleb Cowart led off with a double, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on a grounder by Kyle Kubitza. The Bees had jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning on a two run triple by Cowart, a sacrifice fly by Ji-Man Choi and a run scoring single by Ryan Jackson. Salt Lake led 5-2 in the third, but Reno tied the game on a three run homer by Kyle Jensen.

Salt Lake starter Kyle Kendrick (4-2) earned the win, as he went a season long eight innings and gave up five runs on twelve hits with one strikeout and no walks. Kendrick allowed no runs on three hits over his last five innings. Lucas Luetge stranded the potential tying run at third base in the ninth inning to record his second save of the season. Cowart led the Bees with two hits and two runs batted in, while Choi chipped in with two hits and one RBI.
